Privacy Policy

Wavecrest Pro is a YouTube creator intelligence tool. This policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it. It's short because we don't collect much.
What we collect
- YouTube channel URLs — submitted by you to trigger an analysis. Used to call the YouTube Data API on your behalf and not stored beyond what's needed to generate the report.
- Channel metadata — channel name, handle, subscriber count, video count, and thumbnail URL as returned by the YouTube Data API. No video content, comments, or private data.
- Analysis reports — the structured output of each analysis is saved to our database, keyed to a randomly-generated UUID. This is what powers shareable report links.
- IP addresses (temporarily) — used for rate limiting (5 analyses per hour per IP). Stored in Redis with a 1-hour auto-expiry. Not logged permanently and not tied to reports.
- Email address (waitlist only) — if you submit your email for early access, it's stored for the sole purpose of notifying you when access is ready. Not sold or used for marketing.
What we don't collect
- No account is required to use the free tier
- No third-party analytics trackers (no Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, etc.)
- No advertising cookies and no data sold to advertisers
- No video content, transcripts, comments, or YouTube user data beyond what's listed above
YouTube Data API
Wavecrest Pro uses the YouTube Data API v3 to fetch publicly-available channel and video metadata. By submitting a channel URL, that URL is sent to YouTube's API as part of the analysis. Our use of YouTube data is governed by YouTube's Terms of Service. We access only public data — no YouTube user accounts or private channels are involved.
Report links
Every report is stored with a UUID-based URL (e.g. /app?r=uuid). Anyone with the link can view the report — there is no access control on individual reports. Don't share report links if you consider the contents confidential. Reports older than 12 months may be deleted.
Data retention
- Analysis reports: retained for up to 12 months, subject to change
- IP rate-limit data: auto-deleted after 1 hour
- Waitlist emails: retained until you request deletion
Your rights
To request deletion of a specific report or your email from the waitlist, email us at efeali.bel@gmail.com. We'll handle it within 7 days.
Changes to this policy
If our data practices change meaningfully, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
